My Theory
Ohhh... Ohhh... I came up with a bizarre theory yesterday. Last night, as I was lying comfortably on my bed, Chung Fui the philosopher came up with the most ingenius theory about food. Yes, Chung Fui thinks about food before he goes to sleep... Anyways, moving on...
Everyone goes out to have a meal, and to a certain extent (applies more to us Malaysians who really know our good food I suppose) we expect to eat good food. Fact.
My theory = when people go out they have either one of the 2 mentalities:
1) Me want go out. Me want have food. Me get good food. Me complain if no get good food.
2) Me want go out. Me want to be adventurous. Me try new food. Me no complain if food no good.
Basically, what I'm trying to get through is: we bear either one of these mentality when we go out to have a meal. Either we feel like having good food, we would go to a well known restaurant and order a decent dish which is known to be good. If it falls below expectations- then we complain, and we get upset. However, if we decide to go out for a meal but feeling rather adventurous, we are emotionally prepared to try new interesting dishes (expecting it to be good, average or bad) without high expectations, hence we end up not complaining too much if the food is up to standard or not. We probably just wouldn't return or order that particular dish again.
There you go. Chung Fui the philosopher has spoken.
